MRS. F. E. PALMER,
WIDOW FORMER HEAD
STATE SCHOOL, DIES.
Word was received in Vinton this morning of the death of Mrs. F. E. Palmer, 92, widow of a former superintendent of the Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School.
Mrs. Palmer died at Battle Lake, Minn., where she had lived for some years near her son, Eber, former superintendent of the Vinton Public Schools, and former superintendent of a state school for the blind in New York.
Mr. F. E. Palmer was superintendent of the state school here from 1918 to 1939. He died May 30, 1950. The Palmers had one daughter, now deceased.
Mrs. Palmers body will arrive in Vinton Wednesday night, A funeral service will be held at the Fry & Holland funeral home at 2:00 p. m. Thursday with the Rev. Robert P. Phillips in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
